And when you play in snow, what else do you need? Dump trucks. We hauled and loaded snow most of the morning and built our first actual snow man. To be honest, he couldn't have cared less about the snow man. He just wanted to make sure all his snow got loaded up and then dumped in dramatic fashion, crashing it on the ground and covering toys with a pile up. A boy on a mission. :)
Ok, Ok... cute kid moment over, back to the pantry.
Let me warn you, what you're about to see is horrendous. Your jaw will drop, but I'm going to go ahead and be honest about it. The pantry used to look like this before I had ANY sort of organization to it.
I went back and forth about what would be the best way to organize this mess without spending a fortune. Putting in pull out drawers would have been ideal, but it would have cost me a pretty penny that I didn't really want to spend. I just wanted something convenient and easy. It is JUST the pantry after all and nobody ever sees it.
After looking and looking, I finally came across these deep baskets at Target. Target shout out! Of all places, I found them in the the laundry section... Yes, they're laundry baskets. Don't judge until you see how awesome they worked. :)
These measured out perfectly and only cost $12 each. I originally just bought one to make sure they would fit good and didn't look too ridiculous using laundry baskets in my pantry. Really, who would think to do that? But they worked so I trekked back to the store to get a few more.
I pulled everything out, trashed the old food and made a few adjustments to the shelves. Lucas pulled out his tools to help out with this task. He's such the helper. His handyman skills continue to impress this momma.
After Lucas got the supports screwed in, we were ready to organize!! Secretly, that's the best part right?
And no project is complete without some before and after photos :)
Another project to prove you can't have too many baskets. Those babies hide, I mean store, everything! My two cents... there's always a cheap and easy way to organize your junk. :)
